The Grief Recovery Method

Thank you for getting to know more about me as a Advanced Grief Recovery Method Specialist.

I currently live in the Nashville/Brentwood TN area. I have three sons. My youngest son's physical death came as an accidental overdose to “opioid” prescription drug on May 26 2015, at the age of 27.

This tragic event “knocked the wind out of my sails”. I was lost and floundering. I didn’t know how to deal with the pain of my son’s death. My head was spinning with the “could haves” and “should haves”. There was so much anger, shame, fear and guilt in my heart.

When I participated in the GRM course, I realized I had “unresolved grief” from the loss of my father that occurred three years earlier. It was in the healing and completion of my father’s loss that I was able to know and understand how to complete the loss of my son’s death.

I became an Advanced Certified Grief Recovery Specialist to help those like me and others who experience loss of any type that produces “grief”. There are over forty three types of losses including death, divorce, moving, loss of home, pet loss, loss of health, loss of faith to name just a few. I have a Master of Science degree and I am a RYT-200 Certified Yoga & Meditation Instructor specializing in the healing benefits of yoga and meditation from loss.

1-on-1 ‘Virtual’ Online Format

This approach allows you to work in a private online one-on-one format using Zoom. It gives you more flexibility in selecting a meeting time that is convenient to both your personal schedule and that of your Specialist. It also gives you a more private setting for discussions. The same GRM Content will be provided in this format, as well as, the Small Group ‘in-person’ format. The length of the program is the main difference between the small group.

The Grief Recovery Method is a scientifically tested Evidence Based Program that provides grievers with a tried and true method that has been continuously refined and used time and time again over the last forty years. While you may come into this program with a specific loss in mind, understanding the program may lead you through the process of looking at all of the emotional losses that have touched you throughout your life, so that you can be focused on the one that has impacted you to the greatest degree.

As with both programs a safe environment will be provided where you can share your feelings in total honestly, with absolute confidentiality assured.

Testimonials - Grief Recovery Method

The program made me think about my relationship with my son and how I could quit feeling I had a painful hole in my heart. It helped me realize I don't have to stop loving my child and remembering the good times and not hurting all the time. I had a lot of mixed emotions regarding my son's death, he was shot and died two days later. The class helped me not to harbor on the negative by making me face the reality and my feelings working through my emotions and all the hurt. I do not express my feelings well on paper but I will recommend this class for anyone who is grieving a loss. I learned there are more kinds of grief than just losing a love one that can be just as difficult and hard to recovery from.
