Eye Of The Beholder 2/25/2024

Striving for perfection
Only in an external way
Often falls short
Of the mark
When satisfying
The heart.

For perfection is illusive
Fabricated
By the weary mind
Focused on lack and scarcity
Producing fear and insecurity
Of what we think
Is needed
To fulfill our desire.

Perhaps beauty should be
The eye of the beholder
As said
By an old cliché.

Allowing a multitude
Of combinations
To what is
Perfect and beautiful
As seen through
A variety of human eyes.

Just like nature
Many shapes and forms
Of flowers, plants and animals
Representing beauty
And perfection
In different
Climates and regions.

Tis difficult to say
One is more beautiful
Than another
When all seen
Should be
With the eyes of God.

Accepting differences
In a harmonious way
Is beautiful and perfect
As an open-hearted way
To respond.
