Dance or Fight 2/13/2024

Sitting with my pain
Trying to figure
What went wrong
Trying to figure
How to do better
Next time
Don’t want this to happen again.

Feeling saddened about
This verbal event
As the heavy emotions
Keep myself down
Playing the victim card
Once again
Not wanting to
Deal with the after affects.

It takes two to argue
It takes two to dance
Do I
Dance together or
Fight together
Tis a choice
No matter what the other person
Does or says about it.

We each have
A responsibility for our share
Of spoken words
Always a choice to walk away
From the event
Always a choice to hold back
Hurtful words
When tempers flare up.

Difficult indeed
But in the long run
It will make a difference
Could this be what I needed to learn?

Look inside the heart
Allow the anger to dissipate
Continue to mindfully breath
Reclaiming my power
To love another in the moment.

Feel gratitude replace the anger
Allow love to swell up
Befriending these heavy emotions
Tis a way to feel
What needs to be felt
And release them
Into the cosmos
Transmuting into nothingness.
